First Passport Class of 2019 in Rear View
Moderne Venture is now accepting applications for the 2019 Midyear Passport Program, our 7 month industry immersion program helping companies refine and execute their go-to-market strategies, connecting participating companies with members of our Moderne Network™—over 700 corporations and executives from market leading companies—and providing mentorship, pilot opportunities and even investment and acquisition potential.
Today we’re sharing some of the most memorable moments from the first Passport Class of 2019, giving you a look inside the ins and outs of this deeply-engaged program.
Passport companies typically attach to one of our primary tracks, Multifamily, Residential, Commercial or Insurance, which helps navigate each company’s personal journey through the program; companies attend and participate in specific industry events, connect with the appropriate people and secure highly-targeted pitch opportunities depending on which track they’re most closely associated with.
Kick-Offs
Each class begins with an all-inclusive kick-off, a critical piece of the onboarding process, comprised of first-time intros to individuals, business models and the market. This year was a little different, however. Multifamily companies, Dwelo, Eusoh, SageGreenlife, Snappt and WattBuy, made their way to sunny San Diego, while Residential companies, ByteGain, Payfully, Porch and StreetWire, assembled in snow-laced New York City, and it all occurred as the Polar Vortex resurfaced across the Midwest, leaving the media—and airports—in a frenzy.
Coast to Coast Events
Each company within the Passport company should anticipate a minimum of 1-2 events per month, and as this past winter transitioned to spring, the first class of 2019 certainly found themselves busy. Passport companies were sent to various cities across the country to mingle with the industry’s movers and shakers and to take the stage at some of the most notable conferences focused around real estate technology.
Private Pitch Opportunities
In the mix of various event types, Moderne Passport companies are fortunate to receive personal invites to present their disruptive technology to highly exclusive groups of owners and operators in the space, making them the exception to the rule when it comes to these private events. Such events include presentations to Tishman Speyer, CBRE, Equity Group and Lincoln Properties (twice!).
The Passport Program is focused on customer acquisition and growth. Companies who are selected into the program can expect Moderne Ventures to act as an extension to their business develop team, providing guidance and expertise, mentorship, pilot development and exposure. If you have a product or service capable of scaling nationally and seeking partnerships to help do so, apply today!
